It's been an amazing day and the highlight of our holiday. The lovely photo CD will always bring back memories of a great day.

 Lions Head Portal, Matong Gorge

Explore the natural wonders - the awesome Matong Gorge, where Matong Creek carves a spectacular cliff lined gorge hundreds of meters deep, around the foot of Wobbyong Mountain as it plunges down to join the Snowy River.
In the Black Cypress forests of the gorge rim, you can be serenaded by that Australian Master of Mimicry, the Lyre bird.
On a Stone Bridge Tour keep watch for wallabies, kangaroos, wombats, emus, echidnas, reptiles and native birds.

Enjoy a break at a Matong Gorge, Balancing Rock lookout with homemade biscuits and cakes, and enjoy the views to the Snowy River and the aromatic native Black Cypress forest. |

|
Visit the homestead to break for a hearty shearer’s lunch, then on to the shearing shed to shear a sheep.
Feel the silky white wool that goes on to be used in the highest quality fashions and fabrics.
|
Shearing | Travel the private four wheel drive tracks to Goat Point and on to the legendary Stone Bridge, where the Snowy River disappears into solid granite, beneath massive boulders. The Snowy emerges hundreds of meters downstream after threading its way through holes, cracks and fissures.

Snowy River carved granite
| Through the eons the river has used water, sand and stones to carve this natural granite barrier into a unique fantasy of flutes, ripples, holes and pools; intricately carved shapes fit to grace an art gallery according to the Australian Geographic Book, “The Snowy Mountains”.
|
Enjoy the colors as the sun lights up the Stone Bridge.
The Stone Bridge is a powerful place, a sight to inspire awe and a photographers delight.
